Dental care has come a long way, but many people still fear the dentist. The fear may come from a bad dental experience as a child or adult, a poor outcome from past dental treatment, or the fact you have to lay down and have someone poke around in your mouth to see if anything hurts. We realize we cannot change the past, but we can hopefully change your dental future.
Our systematic approach to providing preventative dental care helps our patients avoid painful things like dental abscesses and broken teeth or fillings in the future. Our team of highly skilled and qualified staff want you to be comfortable during your dental visits with us. Give us a try and see how dentistry can be different.

Restorative

Cavities and tooth decay need to be fixed, otherwise that decay can enlarge within the tooth and/or spread to other teeth in the mouth. We recommend restorative dentistry when the cavity is small and often times inexpensive compared to waiting when treatment can become more involved and costly to fix. Our office does not place the older style of silver fillings, instead we place the white or composite fillings that can be matched to the color of your teeth. If you do not like the look of your existing silver fillings, we can discuss the options for replacement.

Preventative

Our practice was founded on a preventative approach to dentistry. We firmly believe that it is easier and often times less expensive to prevent dental problems than it is to wait for a problem to occur and then fix it. We can help you stop the cycle of tooth decay as well as limit the chances of tooth loss due to gum disease with the proper care. Our goal is to help you maintain your smile for life. It is a different philosophy from other dental offices, but we believe the more treatment we prevent the better the job we are doing.

Cosmetic

Whether you are looking to give your smile a little boost or you would like to have a smile that you have never had, cosmetic dentistry may help. Dr. Baer & the team will discuss the options available to suit your needs. So if you are looking for porcelain veneers, ceramic crowns, dentures or dental implants, we are ready to discuss what options will work best for your ideal smile.

Family

We are a dental practice for the entire family, we see patients from 6 months of age all the way up to 100, which is not a cut off age - we've just never had a patient older than 100. We can provide comprehensive dental treatment to patients of all ages in one convenient location.

Technology

Our philosophy on dental technology is pretty simple: the proper use of current dental technologies should make dental treatment safer and more effective. We believe by correctly incorporating these dental technologies into the treatments we provide allows us to make our dentistry better. If dental technology does not do this, then why would we utilize it? Here are some of the technologies we utilize on a daily basis.

Finance

We want you to be able to get the dental treatment you need. We work with a number of dental lending companies to help make your needed dental treatment affordable. Working with these companies can allow you to get the needed dental treatment at a cost that works with your budget.

Composite Bonding: One simple and effective way to make minor modifications to teeth is to use our tooth colored filling material to close spaces, modify shapes of teeth as well as repair some defects in the teeth. This can typically be done in one appointment and may have to be replaced in the future.

Porcelain Veneers : This is the use of a ceramic material to modify the shape, color and/or length of the teeth is with porcelain veneers. This ceramic or glass material is fabricated to be cemented to the surface of the tooth to achieve the desired modification.

Crowns or commonly referred to as “caps” are coverings made to look like teeth, which are cemented over the top of a tooth “stump” or a dental implant. Crowns are typically done to protect teeth from fracturing, repair teeth that have fractured or to improve the looks of teeth which may have had previous dental treatment. Permanent crowns are typically made from metal or a tooth colored ceramic (glass).

Dental implants are screws made from titanium or zirconia that are placed in the jaw bones to replace missing tooth roots. These implants can be used to replace missing teeth or as anchors for dentures or bridges. Dental implants help the body to preserve the structure of the jaw bones as you age.

Dentures are a method for replacing teeth. The fake teeth are typically made from a plastic or porcelain material which are then embedded into a pink acrylic material that sits on top of the gum tissue. Dentures are typically fabricated as a replacement when all teeth are missing on the top or bottom jaws.

Dentures can me made to sit on top of dental implants so they have more support and are more stable when biting and chewing food.
