Procedures

Whitening or Bleaching

Tooth whitening or bleaching (when bleach is utilized) is a procedure that works to either restore the natural shade of your teeth or go beyond to an even whiter shade. Typically, tooth bleaching compounds use carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide.

 

Dental Bonding

Bonding can create more beautiful teeth and a more confident smile. Unlike other cosmetic dental procedures like dental crowns and/or veneers, bonding maintains most, if not all, of the patient’s original tooth.

Composite bonding is often used for correcting chipped and cracked teeth, evening the discoloration of a tooth’s surface, or reducing gaps between the patient's existing teeth.

Veneers

Dental veneers, also known as porcelain veneers or dental porcelain laminates, are shells made in natural tooth colors and customized to cover the surface of the patient’s existing teeth. The individual veneers are bonded to the patient’s tooth to change their color, shape, size, length, or all four at once.

Veneers can be made of porcelain or other composite materials and are often less than half a millimeter thick. The benefit of the porcelain versions is that they are more stain-resistant than the composite options and more closely resemble natural teeth.

Ceramic Crowns

If you have a tooth that has been damaged to the point where a veneer or filling doesn’t provide enough strength and coverage, your dentist may decide to opt for the placement of a dental crown. This may include damage that is due to cracks, root infection, and other issues. A dental crown is a wonderful prosthetic that offers very similar strength and stability to that of a natural tooth crown. Dental crowns are also built for longevity, and you’ll be able to eat your favorite foods and enjoy your wonderful replacement crown for years to come.
