We are a Different Kind of Dental Office
Baer Dental - Where we treat people, not teeth.
Why Baer Dental?
If you are looking for an office and a dentist that truly cares about patients and providing them with the highest quality dental care, then look no further. Dr. Baer has gone to great lengths to assemble a team that is as passionate about dentistry and providing high quality dental care as he is. Dr. Baer's treatment philosophy is to customize dental treatment to the individual and provide treatment that will last. The treatments we provide are all based on the most current science, but we still have a doctor that places his own fillings! This is part of his commitment to providing the best treatment possible.
Our modern dental practice is conveniently located on the northwest corner of Smoky Hill and Arapahoe Road in Aurora, CO. We are a family dental practice founded with the belief that dental care can be provided in a relaxed, comfortable manner and should focus on long lasting patient relationships. Our office takes pride in the fact that we have an honest team of individuals properly trained to asses your current dental needs and the technologies and equipment to provide those services in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.
We understand that the average person does not like to come in to a dental office and have the dentist and hygienist poke around their mouth and gums. We want to be here to educate you on the best ways to prevent dental problems like gum disease (periodontal disease) and tooth decay (cavities), not lecture you on flossing or brushing more. The fact is our office is different, our philosophy is different and we would like the opportunity to show you how dentistry can be different.
What Sets Us Apart
Dr. Baer is a life long student and expects the same of his staff. Dr. Baer furthered his education after dental school by attending one of the most prestigious and comprehensive dental residencies in San Antonio, TX at the Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital. He then spent years working towards his goal to graduate from the Kois Center in Seattle, WA which focuses on improving dentistry through science and evidence based dental treatments. Now as a Graduate, he is currently working towards his Mentorship Status with the Kois Center -- he never stops learning!
Dr. Baer makes sure that he stays up to date with the most current dental products and dental science available. We utilize cutting edge technologies like lasers, Cone Beam Dental Imaging technology, and digital impressions to make your dental treatment safer, more effective, and more predictable. Dr. Baer is well respected in the dental technology field and is constantly asked by dental product manufacturers to evaluate their new dental products and technologies.
Every staff member is committed to providing a high level of service. We are dedicated to helping you understand your dental needs and co-developing a plan to help you address those needs. We also focus on coming up with a long term plan to help you maintain your optimal dental health.

Crown Installation, Preparation, and Fitting
From start to finish, the process of receiving a crown will take a a couple dental visits.
Your tooth’s enamel will be drilled down to specific dimensions. This will allow the crown to fit over it. This procedure will include administration of a local anesthetic so you won’t feel any discomfort. After the reshaping, a digital impression (model) will be made of the subject tooth and the immediate teeth around it. After the impression is made, a temporary crown will be fitted to protect your tooth until the permanent crown is ready. The digital impression will be sent to a dental lab that will use it to create a custom crown to fit the prepared area. It can take up to 3 weeks for the custom crown to be sent to Baer Dental.
To fit your permanent crown, a local anesthetic will be administered again to avoid any discomfort. Then the crown will be fitted into place and then bonded to the tooth with a permanent dental cement. Once set in place, crowns will typically last 5-15 years. While crowns are designed to last, they can sometimes loosen or fall out. The best way to ensure they last is with a good oral hygiene routine, just like you would for your natural teeth.
